When the Radio Shack in New Haven closed we bought a bunch of kits for learning basic electronics. We have about 10 sets of kits 1 and 2. These have everything you need to do all the experiments from the Make: Electronics book

Online Video Show and Tell (Rescheduled)

YouTube and other video services have amazing information and how to videos. At this event people will introduce a 5 minute (or shorter) segment of their favorite learning video. Each person should explain why the channel or video is awesome. Topics of videos can be about how things are made, science, art or instructional. The idea is that everyone goes home with leads on where to find amazing video content relevant to makers. 

Public Woodworking Show and Tell

<p>This is a meetup to meet other in the wood working community and exchange ideas. Individuals are encouraged to bring examples or pictures of work to share. The event will be a show and tell were each person has an opportunity to share and get feedback. After which there will be an opportunity to socialize</p>

Brewing

We will be doing a brew on the HERMs. Drop in and learn about brewing and the system we have setup for it.

Board Game Night (now with RSVP)

We're hosting a board game night, so you're invited to check out 3D-printers, laser engravers, CNC embroidery, and all sorts of nerdery as we play some games.



Bring something to play with and/or snack on and/or drink in, we'll have piles of options.

A scroll saw is a small electric saw that is useful for cutting intricate curves in cases where a jigsaw or coping saw is not appropriate.

Pre-St. Patrick’s Day Parade Potluck

The largest single-day spectator event in the state of Connecticut, the Greater New Haven St. Patrick’s Day Parade, steps off at 1:30 p.m, on Sunday, March 15, 2015 and passes less than a block from MakeHaven. Lets gather at the space and enjoy some grub and maybe a few brews before joining the masses to watch the Parade.  If you have ever been to the parade before you will recognize that access to MakeHaven and the bathrooms are a valuable resource during the parade.

Jacob will be brewing on the HERMs system. Drop in an check out the brewing system in action and learn a thing our two about how it works.
