Screenprinting is a printmaking process that allows you to print on just about any flat surface, including garments such as T-shirts. The images are created by pushing ink through a stencil, creating a the look that is often colorful and bold. The image can be reprinted many times fairly quickly. The process can easily be duplicated at home with the right equipment and a small amount of DIY initiative.
This course will cover all the basics of the process, including: choosing images, creating the screen stencil, printing on paper with water-based ink and printing on fabric with plastisol ink. Participants will leave with a reusable 10 x 14" screen with their design.
MakeHaven will supply inks and paper. Those wishing to also print to fabric should bring their own cotton-blend t-shirt(s) to print on. This class is taught by Michael Angelis.
Don't miss out: be sure to sign up early! If the class minimum isn't met, we will have to cancel.
