A granite slab is incredibly important to leather tooling and makes setting hardware a lot easier and safer. It is heavy and flat enough, while not rusting, to allow for stable hammering of cased (damp) leather designs.

Whether purchased online or donated from a contractor who doesn't need the sink cutout shape from a new granite countertop, it is a small order that would drastically expand MakeHaven's leather craft capabilities. 

Cobra Class 4 premium with EPS is probably best for a variety of heavy-duty uses from leather bags to belts and sheaths. The basic Cobra Class 4 is $1000 cheaper and the mechanics of it are still great.

This is an example of a good set of eye protection. There are also ones that can be clipped onto glasses and others that can be worn over normally or over prescription glasses.

If MH gets the torch for lamp working, it requires eye protection, particularly for sodium flare. Being able to see colors makes lamp working easyer.

Two pairs would allow a facilitator to guide the person who is learning this art.
