MakeHaven Main Space
The main makerspace and connected shops. This is located at 770 Chapel Street. Registered participants should ring the MakeHaven labeled doorbell. They will be directed down a long hallway, and down a set of stairs to our basement workshop.
Tufting is a process by which custom carpets can be made. The artist sketches a pattern on a cloth, then uses a tufting gun to inject the yarn into the cloth. During this session participants will learn hands-on how to tuft their own simple design. Each participant will be assigned the use of tufting gun and frame, all materials will be provided to create a rug approximately 30" in diameter. Over the two sessions participants will create a carpet of their own design which they can take home.
PLEASE NOTE: This class has 2 sessions: Saturday 10am-2pm followed by Sunday 10am-2pm to complete the rug.
This class is limited to FOUR participants to allow for social distancing.
The finished result looks like this.
Covid Policies. The workshop will take place in a large room dedicated to the activity and participation will be limited to four registered participants plus instructor. All participants are required to wear a mask the entire time and may only participate if well and following safe COVID practices.
