We will be joined by our friends at East Street Arts who will be demonstrating how you can weave the seats on chairs.

Introduction To Woodcut Printing

Introduction to Woodcut

Woodcut is a type of printmaking process. The art of printmaking involves the creation of a "master" printing block, from which multiple prints can then be made. The creation of a woodcut block is a very satisfying and tactile process, where hand tools are used to carve out the image that will be printed.

This Sunday morning class includes a breakfast sandwich and coffee while learning how to roast coffee beans. 
Each participant will also get a 1/4 bag each of light roasted coffee and dark roasted coffee.
 
 

Vishal Patel of The Happiness Lab will lead this workshop on how to roast coffee beans.

Please register in advance so that there will be enough supplies and food for all.

Are you working on developing a product and think New Haven is a great place to do it?  Find out how you can participate in the Made in New Haven campaign, a City initiative to unite, celebrate and promote local manufacturers and makers.  Campaign Manager Elinor Slomba will present how creative entrepreneurs are using the Made in New Haven branding kit to market their products, and collaborate with others in the ecosystem.

This course will be a basic soy candle making class, perfect for beginners and intermediate candlemakers. We will go over the basics of candle making and make our very own 8 oz. soy candles!

This is an opportunity to preview the equipment and software that will be available at the New Haven Hackathon.

 



This meetup will:

  • Start a conversation about how Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality both offer unprecedented ways to represent, and understand, data.
  • Expose potential hackathon participants to the technology which they can explore in preparation for the event.
