Help Your Shelves is a project collaboration between MakeHaven, New Haven Reads, the New Haven Land Trust, and neighbors (like you!) helping neighbors.
Dreamed up in July 2018, our goal is to strengthen our wonderful neighborhoods by building and installing small structures to provide free books (for the first phase) and food (in a future phase) in public spaces. These "Help Your Shelves" structures (commonly known as Little Free Libraries or Little Free Pantries) will be built at MakeHaven and stocked and supported by New Haven Reads, volunteers from FISH, the New Haven Land Trust, and the communities where they reside.
Update:
We have built and installed five boxes in the spring and summer of 2019!
