Moving Lathe

MakeHaven Main Space

The main makerspace and connected shops. This is located at 770 Chapel Street. Registered participants should ring the MakeHaven labeled doorbell. They will be directed down a long hallway, and down a set of stairs to our basement workshop.

Harvey has generously offered to donate his small lathe to make haven, all we need to do is move it.

I will use my pickup truck to pick up the lathe, we just will need some voulenteers to help get it into the basement. The basement hatch door has a small amount of clearance, but we figure that we will have just enough room to make it fit through if the legs are taken off. The plan is to use some 2x4 wood beams to as a ramp on the stairs, and use a chain winch that Harvey has to slowly lower the lathe down the ramps.

Blade Left Circular Saws

Submitted by Robert Narracci on

So about 25 years ago I lived in a 5000sf loft space for $500/mo. The windows were falling out and the heat was splotchy but I was young and resilient and it was a great place to host parties with garage bands (NH post crack-war, pre-boom days, ahh nostalgia)… We had to build our own rooms which were more like little boxes inside of a big room so, fresh out of college I commenced to buying tools. One of my first buys was a Dewalt circular saw. I forget the model but it was simple, lightweight, trustworthy and I loved it.

Green Tech and Hydroponics Stuff

Submitted by BradA on

I own a company called Kensho SEED, and I want to use this space to project out some ideas around energy, and food systems. I'm putting together a business supplying restaurants with hydroponic growing indoors and on rooftops, and I want to expand into other areas (psst Andrew, we've spoken about algae and some of this stuff).  I'm also planning workshops for late winter that will involve compost and hydroponics on a residential level, and a program designed around guiding the process and building small scale units.
