Master the essential tools of the woodshop and earn your Woodshop badge in this hands-on class. Learn how to safely and effectively use the miter saw, planer, and jointer while completing the Woodshop badge requirements. By the end of the session, you’ll have the confidence and certification to access these tools independently at MakeHaven.

What to Expect:

• Introduction to woodshop safety protocols and procedures.

• Step-by-step guidance on using the miter saw, planer, and jointer.

• Hands-on experience with tool operation and setup.

• Completion of the Woodshop badge requirements for these tools.

 

Skills You’ll Acquire:

• Safe and confident operation of the miter saw, planer, and jointer.

• Understanding of material preparation and woodshop workflows.

• Practical woodworking skills through guided practice.
 

Prerequisites/Safety Information:

• Participants must be active MakeHaven members.

• Participants must watch the applicable badging video(s) and pass the associated quiz before attending:

          • Miter Saw Badge Video

          • Planer Badge Video

          • Jointer Badge Video

• Closed-toe shoes are required, and all safety protocols must be followed during the class.

• Gain certification for independent access to essential woodshop tools.

• Build confidence and skills in woodworking.

• Learn proper tool operation in a guided environment.

• Wood and materials for practice.
