Build & Badge: Sewing Machine

Working in a group setting makes the process less intimidating and more collaborative!

This event is for MakeHaven members who have already completed the video and quiz portion of the Sewing Machine Badge and are ready to dive into hands-on practice. Together, we’ll walk through the in-person check-out process and create your take-home project.

This event happens monthly, on the second Monday of each month (holidays notwithstanding).

What to Expect:

• A step-by-step guided introduction to the Necchi HD22 Sewing Machine, focusing on safe and effective use.

• Hands-on practice as you sew a simple microwavable rice neck pillow.

• Support and encouragement in a collaborative group setting, ideal for easing any nerves about using the machine.

• Completion of the in-person portion of the Sewing Machine Badge.
 

Skills You’ll Acquire:

• Sewing machine safety and operational knowledge.

• Basic sewing techniques such as stitching and fabric preparation.

• Confidence to use the Necchi HD22 independently on future projects.

What’s Provided:

• Materials for your project, including fabric, thread, and rice for your neck pillow.

• Expert guidance from a skilled instructor to ensure you successfully complete the check-out.

Who Should Attend:

• MakeHaven members who have completed the video and quiz portion of the Sewing Machine Badge and are ready for the in-person check-out.

• Beginners or those looking for a supportive group setting to build sewing confidence.
