MakeHaven Main Space
The main makerspace and connected shops. This is located at 770 Chapel Street. Registered participants should ring the MakeHaven labeled doorbell. They will be directed down a long hallway, and down a set of stairs to our basement workshop.
Tailored for those interested in learning the basics of spoon carving.
Participants will be in how to cut a spoon blank, then learn how to effectively and safely use the slyod and hook knives to refine the spoon shape with a focus on form and function.
With the use of a few simple tools such as card scrapers, wood rasps, spoke shaves and sand paper, participants will add their own personal touch to their functional, funky one of a kind green wood spoon.
No experience necessary. All materials and tools provided. Participants will finish the class with their own custom wooden spoon!
Please note: Because of the physical effort required for this class, we have broken it up over 3 days, 3 consecutive Fridays.
Tickets:
General Public: $125
Partnerships: $113
MakeHaven Members: $107
