Hi! My name is Matt and I am originally from Phoenix, Arizona but have lived on the east coast for about 20 years now, initially in New York and now New Haven for about six years.
I work professionally as a cybersecurity engineer for a startup. This involves a lot of technical work with web browsers and servers, the JavaScript programming language and related technologies.
Personally, I have a wide variety of hobbies / avocations. I consider myself a jack-of-all-trades and I tend to approach projects creatively, meaning I have a specific goal in mind and try to learn the techniques I need along the way. As a result stuff tends to not really get done often but the experience I gain is more than worth it.
I consider myself to be a very good programmer and general computer guy. I am a novice-intermediate when it comes to wood working and electronics, and am trying to develop those skills more fully. Also I'm pretty good at gardening and fermentation and make my own hot sauces of all varieties.
