What to Expect

Students will start by selecting from a variety of donated fabric scraps and learn how to cut, arrange, and piece them together to create a unique quilt top. Once the quilt top is completed, you’ll discover how to layer it with batting and a backing fabric, and join these layers through basic quilting techniques. By the end of the class, you’ll leave with a completed quilt and a new understanding of sustainable crafting!

Halloween Wall Clings

MakeHaven members: join facilitator Stephen for a group badging on the vinyl cutter where you will get to create a vinyl cling to take home (pick the Hey Boo Ghosts or the Bloody Hand Prints). It's a great way to learn this tool and create your first project with it all at once.

Python Essentials

In this course, you'll dive into the core fundamentals of Python, covering essential topics like data types, functions, file handling, and data structures. The course is designed to be interactive and fun, with a hands-on project where you'll build a touch-activated stopwatch using a microcontroller.

Maker Show and Tell

We want to see what you’ve been up to, hear your stories, and get inspired by each other’s creativity. Feel free (but not required!) to bring a snack or drink to share. Whether you're a seasoned maker, just starting out, or anywhere in between, this event is for you. Come hang out, make connections, and let’s keep building together!

Halloween Potluck & Fall Fest

Meet in the main space for some Halloweeny fun. Make a fall themed wreath with Ellen ($10 materials cost), make (and taste if you dare!) fake blood with Jeremy, or just bring a favorite fall treat to share and hang with makers. 
 

Costumes highly encouraged! The crowd-voted favorite costume will win a gift card!

Quilt Club at MakeHaven

Bring a machine if you have one to work on your project. Snacks/drinks to share are always welcome!

This month at MakeHaven we will have a quiet quilters area upstairs for those wanting to work on projects as usual, as well as demos of the laser cutter (to cut and engrave fabric), the embroidery machine, and the long arm quilter!
