Location
1st Floor Room
This educational room has seating and tables suitable for instruction away from the noise of the main workshop. It is located on the first floor of 770 Chapel Street. Guests should ring the MakeHaven doorbell, then proceed down the long hallway. When you get the main MakeHaven staircase by the double elevators, rather than go downstairs, proceed through the double glass doors, take a right down the hallway and you will see a room with a big robot sticker on the door.
Join us for a candid conversation about partnering and intellectual property for innovators. This is an opportunity to gain insights about how IP can be strategically used as a tool to benefit the ventures of inventors and entrepreneurs at MakeHaven and throughout CT. Anyone interested in commercializing their inventions and building it into a business will take something away from this conversation. Note this is not intended to be business or legal advice on how to deal with specific IP.
David's work at the Yale University’s Office of Cooperative Research (OCR). OCR works to facilitate the translation of research from Yale’s labs into products and services that benefit society and generate revenue for the University and its inventors. In his business development role he advised and supported the partnering and commercialization growth of many Yale innovations and, for some, the spin-out companies founded by Yale faculty to execute on developing products and services. He has seen where Intellectual Property (IP) has been a critical ingredient of commercialization strategies – the goal of his presentation and discussion is to introduce basic concepts and choreography of investment in IP for commercial purposes.
