The Business Model Canvas is a helpful tool startups can use to better understand their business. Developed by Steve Blank, it's a one-page document that helps startups work through the basic elements of a business or product in a way that identifies key issues early in the process. Early identification of potential problems allows for quick pivoting without spending money and loosing time, two things that startups are always short on!
In this seminar, you'll get a chance to walk through the canvas, identify your own value proposition, challenge it with a hypothesis that you can then go test, and you'll learn how to critically evaluate the most important aspects of your startup, saving you valuable time and money (and frustration) in the process.
This seminar will be taught by John Fiorello, Entrepreneurial Center Director at Northwestern Connecticut Community College. John is also the owner of TheJSG, a production company in the Northwest Corner of CT, previously the founder of RecordME (an award winning music-tech startup), and has served startups in CT and Mass as a mentor, entrepreneur in residence, adjunct faculty, and program developer for non-profit and for-profit organizations.
Includes light lunch.
