Stop the Bleed: Hands-On Training for Emergency Response

A life-threatening injury can happen anytime, anywhere. Knowing how to stop severe bleeding can save a life in the critical moments before emergency responders arrive. In this Stop the Bleed training, participants will learn and practice essential bleeding control techniques, gaining the confidence to act in an emergency.

What to Expect

• A hands-on training session led by a certified instructor.
• Step-by-step demonstrations on applying direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet use.
• Practical application of life-saving techniques with instructor feedback.
• The knowledge to recognize life-threatening bleeding and respond effectively.

Skills You’ll Acquire

Bleeding Control: Learn how to slow or stop life-threatening bleeding.
Tourniquet Application: Understand when and how to apply a tourniquet correctly.
Wound Packing & Direct Pressure: Gain hands-on experience managing severe injuries.

• Expert instruction in a supportive learning environment.

Who Should Attend

Anyone who wants to be prepared for an emergency.
• Community members, parents, teachers, workplace safety teams, and first responders.
• No prior medical experience is needed—this class is designed for everyone.

Prerequisites/Safety Information

• No prior training is required.
• Participants must be comfortable practicing hands-on techniques such as applying pressure to simulated injuries.
• This training is free, but registration is required to attend.
