Job Title: Team-Building Workshop Instructor

Description:

MakeHaven is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic instructor to teach various private group activities, including but not limited to glass etching, button making, small-scale screen printing, and laser-cut lanterns (with or without LED lighting). This role is perfect for someone passionate about maker crafts and eager to share their knowledge with others, especially adults. The instructor will have the flexibility to develop new workshop ideas and introduce additional 1-2 hour activities that can be offered to our community. While Spanish speaking is a plus, it is not a requirement for this position.

 

Responsibilities:

- Lead and teach private group workshops, ensuring a positive and engaging experience for participants.

- Develop curriculum and lesson plans for existing and new activities.

- Prepare and maintain materials and tools required for workshops.

- Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

- Collaborate with the Education Director in coordination, supply management, and program development.

- Continuously improve and expand personal skills in various maker crafts.

- Ensure availability during weekdays for scheduling workshops.

 

Qualifications:

- Previous teaching experience, preferably with adults.

- Familiarity with maker crafts is preferred, but specific experience in listed disciplines is not required.

- Strong communication and organizational skills.

- Ability to create a safe and inclusive workshop environment.

- Willingness to undergo training and continuously develop new skills.

- Effective teaching methods for adult learners.

- Workshop facilitation and management.

- Creative problem-solving and innovation in maker crafts.

- Enhanced communication and presentation skills.

- Experience in coordination, supply management, and program development.

- Bilingual individuals (English/Spanish) are encouraged to apply, though it is not a requirement.

 

Compensation:

- This is a contract position, rate starts at $25/hr and is determined by experience and expertise.
