DIY Stedicam

Submitted by Robert Narracci on

Guys,

Is anyone interested in building their own StediCam? I just threw one together last weekend. Some specialty parts like gimbals and bearings would have to be preordered so I'd need a commitment. I think its doable for under 30 or 40 bucks. I would try to do this before Christmas season fires up.

PS Almost forgot...below is a quick test by me stedicamming my dog Phoebe. Not perfect but decent considering that I was crouched low following her on  an uneven grass surface and also playing tug-o-war with one hand while filming with w/ StediCam in other hand. (using Canon S90 with some built in image stabilization...did NOT allow YouTube to alter my video posting with their own cropping or stabilization)
