Join us for this information and ideation session will provide an overview presentation of the American Made Lighting competition, its goals and requirements for submission.
$1,000 of incentives/prizes for local participaint teams to submit a concept. 10 Concepts will receive $20,000 each, there are additional prizes for prototype and manufacturing.
Participants will be invited to brainstorm ideas then work in teams to draft ideas and pitches, with the goal of leaving the session prepared to finalize and submit an idea to the competition. This event will be held both in-person at MakeHaven and online via Zoom.

The L-Prize targets commercial sector lighting, which accounts for 37% of national lighting energy use, and encourages lighting innovators to design lighting systems with breakthrough energy efficiency, quality, functionality, and sustainability. A full realization of SSL technology potential envisions LED lighting products manufactured with significant domestic materials, while demonstrating exceptional energy efficiency, data connectivity, seamless lighting control, excellent visual quality, and design for recycling and remanufacturing.
American-Made competitions, offered by the U.S. Department of Energy, are designed to reward innovation and problem solving. Innovators work to transform big ideas into concepts and then prototypes ready for industry testing on a condensed timeline.
